Springfield, Illinois, Administrative Hearing Lawyer

Restoring Your Driving Privileges

Illinois takes an aggressive stance against drunk driving and traffic offense charges. If you have been charged with a DUI, or have an extensive history of traffic violations, the Illinois Secretary of State's office will invoke its right to suspend or revoke your driver's license.

If your driver's license was suspended or revoked for a DUI, multiple traffic violations, or another reason, an attorneys at Feldman Wasser Draper & Cox have the necessary experience to effectively represent your interests in an administrative hearing, and make the case for restoring your privilege to drive.

We also represent clients in administrative hearings involving license suspensions for:

  • Possessing a fake ID
  • Failing to carry auto insurance
  • Minor in possession of alcohol
  • And other traffic offenses

Administrative Hearing Process

The first step in getting back your license is to request a hearing with the Secretary of State's office. During this hearing, your lawyer will present evidence to the Administrative Licensing Judge (ALJ) that shows you are a responsible citizen who is able to handle the responsibility of driving. This evidence includes reference letters, drug and alcohol evaluations and treatment, and reports of significant changes in your life, such as graduating from college and having a full-time job. In addition, your lawyer will question the prosecutor and challenge negative reports against you if necessary.

Driving is privilege. It is our job to show that you deserve to have that privilege restored.
